Use LabVIEW to develop an efficient and fully automated assembly line controller.

Create and implement the algorithms used by the assembly line to identify, sort, and assemble combinations of components using its various sensors, actuators, and motors.

Project Summary

This project was done in a team of 2. My partner and I used a variety of tools available in LabVIEW to implement the logic required to run this machine. Features we implemented include the following:

  • Real-time feedback: A GUI was created to capture the status of sensors and actuators.
  • System Recovery: In the event of a power failure, the system was able to restart at the exact moment prior to shutting down and retrieve any data from the previous run.
  • Data capture and analysis: The system was capable of storing the number of parts that were processed and rejected. This information was used to calculate the overall efficiency of the system.

    We were able to fulfill all project requirements and deliver a robust solution.
